Better look again ... It's over a grand now and from what I can tell, in pieces. Go figure!
Observe the bidders in this auction, his other auction, and the completed auctions in his feedback.
Sold!

I would like to place a small wager on whether the High Bidder actually pays for
and receives this Apple II.
Steven
You've gotta want to play them games really bad ...

It's going to get relisted I bet - This guy is a serious shill bidder, no idea how he's getting away with it...
A little off topic, but still about ebay, I was buying a couple of 4 MHZ crystals to make a clock, and the guy just canceled my order out of the blue with no message or anything! Just a little paint in the neck.... and hes done it before to other people.
Sounds about right.

I guess the box makes all the difference.
Regarding this (mentioned above)...
APPLE II WOZ
...if I was "4***2" I'd be complaining to eBay something fierce about that one.
If it was for the "twiggy drive", it would be Three Times as much.....
MarkO
I just Love Stock Pictures!:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252735894647?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I've written to this person twice now about the use of Stock versus Real Pictures for an auction.
Really???

All I can say is that I hope Rich makes another Batch soon:

Steven
This IIe just Has to be made of Gold or Platinum:

Steven
I had a feeling that the seller would post a corresponding ad on Craigslist.
I was right.
Here is the corresponding craigslist ad for that computer:
https://miami.craigslist.org/brw/sys/5971227984.html
Any potential buyers should beware of the infamous early "item is not available" change.
That is, of course if anyone is mad enough to buy that computer at that price.
I've got two complete Apple iie's!
I can do the same thing this person is doing.
Yes, there is gold inside and silver too (in the motherboard and cards), but it is definitely not a Platinum IIe
Double post... darn Iphone.
Two things.. this one might be worth it. It looks in great shape, good condition original serial # matching boxes and it runs. These sales of near perfect running machines don't cater to us, but people who can't fix or repair the machines who are just now getting into the hobby. Same thing happened in car collecting back in the day. You still have the wrench turners who can get a deal but they can't understand how a used car that was practicly given away or junked back in the late 70's can be worth 100K plus restored. I coincider myself a wench turner, I'd rather buy a rat rod with potential and fix it up so its my blood, swear and tears not someone else's.
The second thing is about the CFFA. They have sold for more than that on eBay. Most people who buy a CFFA card when Rich has them available buy more than one because of that. I debated buying a spare till I saw one go for $600 plus a few years back. That settled it and in the end the spare found a home in my rev 4 Apple II.
Cheers,
Corey
I have bid on one of those before... it went up to $560! I could not believe it, I let it go, I got a sandwich ii and a nice connor 100MB drive in the mean time. Ill just wait till he makes more.
Are these really worth THAT much?!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252727631616
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252727630743
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252727628315
Not as such, they can bid up to that price, but they do not usually sell as a BIN at that price, especially if they are listed as for parts or not working.
Beware! *bay is FULL of charlatains and not just selling computer stuff!
I buy a fair amount of antique electrical gear and ALL of the threads are
just like the computer threads. Inflated prices for junk and parts. So
use your judgement and let others know when you find gougers.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Vintage-Apple-Color-100-Monitor-for-Apple-computers-Model-A9M0308/272527912773?_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985&_trkparms=aid%3D777003%26algo%3DDISCL.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131230161411%26meid%3D5ea1485e0a1641909f7347831a01b607%26pid%3D100012%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D272524727410
..what am I missing?
Nothing.
This is just a case of pure greed.
Woogie:
That's what this thread is all about, right folks?
Keatah and Insanitor:
I brought up Wayne's Monitor before.
A lot of money for that one and you should see
some of the Green Screen's he has for sale.
Yes...It is truly Laughable.
Steven
I Was bidding on this for a time but when it went over about $450 I said "screw that its untested, its not worth that much." http://www.ebay.com/itm/182439413510
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Bell-and-Howell-Apple-II-Plus-Computer-Darth-Vader-with-2-Disk-Drives-RARE-/282351617373?hash=item41bd77c55d:g:vhEAAOSw241Yl8vz
I thought these were supposed to have a lock on the lid so kids cant open them in schools. There should be a hole at the back of the machine for a bolt to lock the lid
this looks like a normal apple ii sprayed the wrong color with new badges put on
any thoughts?
Only the backpack systems have the screw in lock. I looked at the auction pics, its definitely real.
Falen5,
It's real. Transwarp is correct.
And now, one of Wayne's high priced IIe's:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Apple-e-with-DuoDrive-monitor-and-some-docs-/272548398820?hash=item3f752686e4:g:hIUAAOSw2xRYmRxC
Ya gotta love it.
Steven
If he put one of his AppleColor 100 monitors with the set, then it might be priced right
Found this gem by accident, not only is it over priced, it's in terrible shape. http://www.ebay.com/itm/311797967702
Now this computer has a "**Reduced Price**" as they put it for $725.00. But on ebay the price is not exactly much of a "**Reduced Price**".
http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/282363175640?
Seriously ?????
https://www.ebay.com/itm/142283592958
It's Number 48!!
MarkO
#48 Is the Inspectors Number. lol
Wow. I just came across one of these in the big collection I bought. I didn't even pay that much for the entire truckload of stuff I purchased which this case was just one item.
I should put mine up there for $3000.
Shhhhh... Don't Tell Him That...
It might upset him...
MarkO
I just don't know where these folks are getting their asking prices:

And then there's this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272563841167?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
No real pictures and when I tried to ask about it I was not able to ask a question.
This stinks to High Heaven.
Steven
just love the title on this
'Vintage Apple Macintosh IIe 2e DuoDrive, Monitor, Manuals, Clean and Tested'

And... It's GONE!!!
MarkO
And Not Surprising, it's None of Those....
MarkO
MarkO:
Looks like a Clone to me.
And here's todays catch:

The Description leaves a lot to be desired.
Steven
I have "heard" that the 720K/800K Sony Mechanism can be replaced with the 1.44MB Mechanism...
Possible????
MarkO
Re: replacing the mechanism, I've only heard the opposite. That you can put a SuperDrive in an 800k enclosure and it'll act as a SS/DS drive.
Marko, you heard correctly ... But, in doing so, you have to lift 1 pin (cut one ribbon wire actually) plus change 1 IC to recognize the new hardware.
Just Remarkable:

This guy is a Pip.
Steven
Sir, if you had bothered to look at the pics you couldn't have failed to notice the bar of Nazi gold taped to the inside of the case. Hence the $2,000 starting bid. I just sent the seller "marhowel_75" a message asking what the serial number is on that bar...
:-P
David,
First of all, you never have to call me Sir. LOL
Second, I too would like to know the Serial Number on that bar of Gold.
Steven
Exactly what is he selling for a dollar?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIC-Computer-The-Apple-II-Pre-Owned-Vintage-Complete-/162411929249?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 The price is horrendous enough, but the packing is worse!
