Serial Interface and Super Serial Card Issues: no SSC prompt

I am having some issues with both my Serial Interface and Super Serial Card.

Set-up: 1978 Apple II non-plus with 16K language card in slot 0 and disk controller into one of the right slots (can't remember which). Computer boots fine and functions perfectly. Has upgraded ROMS.

Apple Super Serial Card (1981 / C variant, kept stored in a static free bag for 15 years by the previous owner). Arrow on jumper points up for modem use. Setting on the SW Dip switches are as per the ADTPro website. Super Serial card is in slot 2.

Apple ][ Disks From Emulator Roms ?

I have recently gotten back into retro gaming and have been playing old Apple ][ games from when I was a kid. But using an emulator is not the same thing. I would much rather play the games on an actual. Asuming that I was able to track down a working Apple ][, is it possible to create working game disk from the roms that I use in my emulator ? What equipment would I need and how would I go about making a disk ? Thanks.

Some weird PCB in my new Apple II

Can anyone tell me what the heck this is? It's sitting in a new Apple II that I just bought. It seems to be a home-made PCB connected to the auxiliary video connector (probably only for power supply), and it seems to generate a 2 Hz signal into the cassette input (I connected earphones to the cassette in and could hear a 2 Hz ticking).

BTW I bought not only this Apple II, but two others, plus a real Apple II monitor, Apple joystick, paddles, an Apple Silentype (really neat little thing, had never seen or heard of it before), etc.

Apple II Europlus main crystal frequency, NTSC vs PAL, etc

Hi, according to the Apple II reference manual, the Europlus (50 Hz) model has a different main crystal frequency than the standard NTSC model. I have a Europlus that I want to convert to NTSC, in order to get color output (Europlus video is monochrome if you don't have a PAL video card, which I don't).

I have reverted the X- and O-pad changes, but I'm not sure what frequency the current main crystal is. I think it is labeled something like "197-000"...

Is it or isn't it an Apple II?

Hi all,

I thought the machine I have is an Apple II. Then I thought it was an Apple II with updated II+ ROMs. Now I don't know.

The machine boots up (thanks for all the suggestions!!) with "Apple ][" on the display and a "]" prompt. This an Applesoft BASIC prompt, not Integer BASIC. That is what I'd expect on a II+. I naively tried the various keyboard tricks of escaping/switching to INT Basic- no go.

What do I look for to determine if this is a II motherboard with II+ ROMs, or really a II+?

What else I know:

Non-standard DOS archive project

Hi all

OK, this is my first post here and I have searched for an answer but here goes.

I have an Apple II system that controls a piece of machinery. I want to replace the Apple II with a PC, but I want to archive the Apple data, chuck the floppies away and retire the Apple.

The program and its data disks are not standard DOS. I think this was done to make more space on the floppies.
Is there a way to determine how its set up and make images from there?

need a IIe emulator for my Mac Classic.

hey guys , I got an old Mac Classic II , and a ton of small floppies that came with it. I had a IIe emulator for it , but for some reason it just went bad on me :O( . what I am looking for , and can't seem to find them , are the original startup disks for the mac classic. I think these are 3 1/4 disks? you know which ones :O) . Any how , if anyone has a good emulator for the mac classic , can you get me one? I have an original 5 1/4 hooked up , so I just need to get a good emulator running , so I can see if I can get one of my CMS hard drives up and running.
