Paddle Test

I'm looking for a small BASIC program I can enter into my Apple to see the input of my Paddles. I want to see a set of readouts for both paddles. I like to see the function of the pots 0%-100% and the function of the push buttons 0 (off) or 1 (on).

Apple II (non-plus) display issue.... please can you help?

My Apple II (non plus) boots up with a beep when switched on.
But the screen is either flickering low res black/white gibberish or black with a solid flashing cursor. No "Apple ][" welcome.

Apple II Pascal...general use and pre-booting for games

I am thinking of getting a copy of Apple II Pascal (1979/1980 version with 4 disks, not the later "instant Pascal"). Any users out there?

Also my Wizardry disk, which is the only vintage disk in my collection which refuses to boot, has a golden sticker which says (something to the effect of) "requires Pascal 1.x operating system" (can't recall if it needed 1.1 or 1.2). When I try booting the Wizardry disk without Pascal it gives me an error message, something like "X=random number, Y=random number etc"

Good source for Apple II game instructions/manuals and cheats

I have various Apple II games w/o manuals.
Any good source to get the pdf scans for the manuals, joystick functions etc.
All the games are relatively well know (Infocom Enchanter, Hitchhikers, Bolo etc)

Apple II Language Card issues

My Apple II (non plus) boots fine without the 16K Language Card and reads from the floppy disk.
Games (Loderunner) play fine etc.

But when the 16K Language card is plugged in and a boot up is attempted (buy switching on/off) the screen goes funny (flickers and gives a solid flashing cursor without the "]" prompt.
When I switch the computer on and off again a random symbol pattern appears, sometime it gives a solid cursor other times nothing.
This language card used to work earlier. It is a generic card and not an Apple II original item.

Apple II boot problem

Hi,

I'd like to get this Apple II working. With no diskette drives attached (and no associated disk card installed), when I power up the machine, it does the quick double beep, the "APPLE ][" shows up on the screen and the very next line says something like:

DBxx A=xx X=00 Y=xx P=xx S=xx
*

where xx is a different 2-character hex number

Mockingboard help .......

I have a Mockingboard , finally! It seems to work , but I don't have a good set of speakers. The connectors that came with this board seem to be RCA? Can someone recommend a cheap/good set of speakers that one can hook up to these? Since this card already has volume pots on the card , I think , I just need a set that plugs in [RCA Plugs] to the back of each speaker. Also , I think my card supports speech , but there is a chip missing on the board! I think this is for speech capabilities?

Apple IIgs emulator and real IIgs disk?

Hello! I hope I have the right forum!

Recently I purchased an Apple IIgs disk called "Paper Models: The Christmas Kit" by Activision. I don't have a IIgs, and I'm very excited to use the disk, but I'm not sure how to go about accessing it with an emulator.

Experts, pls help - BASIC programming on Apple II emulators

Hi,

Firstly, i've looked EVERYWHERE on the net for information on this for the past few days. I've given up, so i have searched for "apple II discussion forums" and came across this page. If this post is completely unrelated, could someone please tell me a good site/resource/forum for help on this..

Okay... i owned an Apple IIe throughout childhood, and recently i decided to find an Apple IIe emulator for Windows (Applewin) to start learning some basic programming for a bit of fun.

27C16 EPROMs

I finally made some progress on EPROMs for an Apple II Replica kit. What I found and suspected was the simple pin 18 and pin 21 swap shown in various websites and in the Understanding the Apple II book doesn't work with a language card. The language card pulls down pin 18 (INH_L) in the Apple II design (which becomes pin 21 once swapped). Since pin 21 is VPP on a 27C16, it can't be pulled down by the language card.
