How to valuate an Apple II original?

Hi - I'd like to buy an original II, but I'm having trouble estimating the cost of a base system. I've heard and read anything from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Can anyone shed some light?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Can you clean a 5.25 floppy disk?

I recently picked up a couple old Apple II programs the local library was discarding. When I booted one of the program disk it loaded the first screen then failed. A second boot got me a "check startup device" message. I then booted a known working 5.25 disk program and got the check startup device message again. I cleaned the drive head and that solved the startup problem.

Looking for screenshots of The Prisoner and Terrorist from Edu-Ware

Hello, I am new to the forum. I discovered this forum while doing some research on games and gaming history. I was wondering if someone with access to the ROMS for The Prisoner and Terrorist could capture a few screenshots and submit them here? I would like to use them in a presentation and I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Modern mass storage or disk drive emulation for IIe

Hi everyone. I'm new to the Apple II's, and after poking around a bit, was wondering if there are any disk emulation softwares or mass storage devices from which I can boot standard disk images (particularly games) I have both types of solutions for other 8-bits, so there must (?) be something like this for the Apple. I'm aware only of the CFFA board, but from what I understand about it, it's a pure hard-drive like replacement that only works with ProDOS (or am I wrong?)

Thanks for your tips!

Rusted up Apple II 5.25" floppy drive

In anticipation of my Apple //e Platinum aquisition (yes, I am FINALLY getting one, so excited), I started gathering up all the Apple II related stuff I have collected over the years. I found a external modem I *Think* can be used, 2400 baud RS232, a 9 pin male to male apple branded serial cable (old apple font, modern tektura or whatever it's called embossed in to both ends), my old mouse from my Plus (plan on swapping it back with the one from a IIc I got at a computer sale, since it's platinum as well), and a few other things.

Can Anyone Help me Find This Game?

Hi,

I've got a game in mind that I played on my Apple II plus back in 1979 when my dad purchased the computer for me.
It's my belief that it was likely a Type In game from a magazine of some sort.
It used LoRes Graphics, was a maze game, which would reveal the maze as you wandered around.
It was a Green Maze and you fought monsters using the space bar possibly to attach. Your character was represented by a Block, Either a single block (or maybe if my memory serves me correctly a 2x2 matrix block)It had levels which you would enter by going down or up.

Does any of this sound familiar? This was the same time frame as NIM which I also typed in from a small format Apple Magazine (5.5x8.5)...
