Apple II

Main board Identification

Hello,

I just got this depopulated mainboard in a lot I picked up. It has no names or numbers on it. The spacing and stuff looks like an Apple II style board to me. Any ideas?

Trouble booting

I recently picked up an Apple II plus, which the original owner told me was working the last time he had used it (many years ago). When I turn it on it looks like it is trying to display the apple banner but most of the characters are missing, the computer doesn't beep on boot either. I tried reseating most of the chips and removing any extra cards which didn't seem to make a difference. I'm not sure if there is a bad ROM or something, but was hoping to get some ideas of what I could try next. I attached a picture of what it looks like when I turn it on. Thanks I appreciate any help.

Apple II+ - Don't store that Apple in the garage (Fixed)

I've had this since 1982-83. It's not booting. Following advice I got a chip puller and started to re-seat the ram. To my surprise I find a spider nest? In addition, I took a close up of one of the RAM chips and you can see the years of neglect.
Not sure if I can revive this but I'm going to try. When booting I hear the beep and I get what you see in the picture on the screen. Any advice would be helpful.

Should I get a (repro) enhancement kit for my IIe?

I have an early one and I've been reading about the benefits of an Enhanced chip set.

Apple II Single Stepper

Apparently this was used in test engineering.
In Ireland.
The single stepper was used in the rework area -
failed motherboard would be examined by the
technicians using the single stepper and
could determine the fault. (RAM, shorts, opens)

Apple II Rev 3 motherboard - Clone, prototype or what?

I acquired two interesting Apple II Rev 3 motherboards. One is a board that was thought to be a clone but I wanted to explore if it was actually a prototype. As with the Apple II Rev 0 prototype, one of the Rev 3 motherboards has no solder mask or graphics.

Apple IIc internal disk drive

Hi,

I just purchased a Apple IIc.

Everything seems to work well.

I tried the Apex II Apple II diagnostic from Asimov. Every test was successful - but the Disk PROM controller test was not.

I tried about 25 different disks and all are booting and working without problems.

So the question:

Is the Apex II test not able to test an Apple IIc internal disk drive? Which differences are between the Apple IIc internal disk drive and the Disk II?

Thanks!

Apple IIe Platinum getting RAM error when Disk II card inserted

I could really use some help with this IIe Platinum that I received as a donation since it was displaying garbage on the screen. I swapped the 6502 chip with an older IIe (which I hope is okay for testing. I also noticed the existing chip just says 6502 making me wonder if this was a donor board).

Apple IIGS Documentation

There are a few places on the internet
in which you can obtain the schematic for
the IIGS. (ASIMOV, 1000bit.it etc)

This is not published in any IIGS that
I currently have find and it is leaving me
with questions.

I would like to find out the abbreviations
/terminology on the schematics of the chips
so I can trace the individual lines.

I would like also to compare ROM01 and ROM3.

Did Apple do this on purpose as it used more
inhouse custom chips as not to have information
readily available?

As the schematics are available, surely there
must be other documentation to go with it.
