Introducing BurgerDisk, a daisy-chainable Smartport hard drive

BurgerDisk is a Smartport hard drive for the Apple II. Its main unique feature is that it is daisy-chainable.

As all Smartport SD-based hard drives, it's more adapted to the non-slotted Apple II, like the //c and IIgs.

Here are a couple pictures of the finished device:

ImageWriter/Super Serial Troubleshooting

Hello,

Seems I've run into a slight issue that I'm also curious about.

My ImageWriter DIPs are set to the defaults (11101011 0010) and so are my Super Serial DIPS (terminal mode, 0001011 1001100). However, in AppleWriter 2.1 when printing with the defacto 9600,8,N,1 setting, nothing is printed. It's only when I set DIP 5 on the printer to zero (ignores 8th data bit) that it prints correctly.

Not that this is a serious issue, I'm just curious if this is the correct setup and why it's happening. I'd like to learn about parity and whatnot :)

New Text Adventure for the Apple II+: Kill Wizard

Hello. I put together a text adventure using PunyInform and documentation from the Kansasfest 2017. It’s an easy game, with a couple of challenging puzzles, that I built around the interpreter to run on the Apple II+. I had to use the old Infocom one from Lurking Horror to get it to work correctly on an Apple. If anyone is interested, it’s up on itch: Kill Wizard. It should run on a standard II+, though I only tested it using BMOW Floppy Emu.

Am I the only one who has thought of this? Updating Apple II models to the latest ProDOS

I've been thinking an idea on Apple II systems, and I'm hoping I'm not the only one who has asked this beofre. I wonder if there's a way to get the latest ProDOS (2.5 a8 or whichever version) and flash onto the ROM. Upon booting, it shows the exact model, (Apple IIe Platinum, Apple II Plus, etc), and on system level 'boot' into the bitsy bye programs, as well as use other new tools provided by ProDOS.  Could something like this work?

How do I get prodos.sys onto my 32M Apple disk image so it boots?

I'm currently workin on the FROB (Apple II/Atari VCS board) and trying to get all my files easily reachable. So far I'm not quite there.

How do I get ProDOS.sys onto my 32M Apple disk image so it boots into ProDOS?

Low V

Some time back I built a card to read all 4 voltages and yesterday took a few minutes to check the IIgs power supplies I had handy. Most I had checked several years ago but there had been some changes. A couple of power supplies are a bit off. I have a +11.5 on one and a +11.6 on another.

Now, what to do? I likely have most of the caps on hand so maybe replace those and see if there’s a difference.

Fujinet and ANSI Graphics

Greetings community.

I'm trying to log into BBSs that use ANSI graphics from Fujinet on my Apple IIc+.  I have successfully connected to BBSs via Netcat and VT100.  Want to know if there is modern software that can see ANSI characters from my IIc+ using Fujinet.

Disk II Spinning but no light

I'm going through a Disk II that's having some issues, and in the process, I created another issue to fix.

Drive was having issues and unfortunately the card moved when the door was open and the Disk II PCB grounded on the disk mech....causing the Apple II to beep...but:

Now, when I try to boot, the drive spins but the stepper motor doesn't do the normal startup 'thumping' and the LED never comes on.
